Construction Associate
Vanguard Renewables is looking for a Construction Associate with project management skills regarding quality, financials, productivity, schedule, design, and project document storage.
Construction Associates maintain a 50% travel schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Management of General Contractor.
- Supports the development of project document control programs.
- Supports Submittal, RFI & Drawing Management processes.
- Supports in the development and maintenance of the project Master Schedule.
- Supports development and management of the 3-week look ahead
- Assists in activities and resource management
- Work with the construction manager on cost control, cost forecasting, invoicing, and financial management.
- Aids in the development of production tracking programs, trend analysis, and recovery planning.
- Analyze impacts to schedules & cost of recovery/acceleration.
- Work with the General Contractor to review the project financial management program and analyze information for project strategic decisions.
- Risk analysis and reporting.
- Lead negotiations with subcontractor/vendor disputes.
- Analysis of “what-if” scenarios impacts during strategic execution.
- Support in project pre-planning.
- Oversee project completion milestone progress.
- Maintain weekly updates and weekly reports.
- Manage client and lessor relations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in schedule development, contract compliance, and change management.
- Advanced analytical skills to address problems, identify root causes, and generate potential
- Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction means and methods.
- Some experience in project financial setup, tracking, reporting, and management.
- Full production tracking process development, trending, and recovery planning.
- Understanding of procurement process and management.
- Basic understanding of contract language.
- Basic understanding of development and execution of change management process.
- Displays leadership skills.
- Basic ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Global awareness of how projects fit into Vanguard Renewables’ greater purpose.
- Ability to develop document control programs.
- Familiar with blueprints and specifications.

Construction Manager
Construction Managers are responsible for overseeing and coordinating all the activities of a POD under construction according to the design and specification parameters. This includes general contractor management, performing quality control and safety checks as well as maintaining schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
- Full ownership and accountability for the success of the projects
- Ability to oversee multiple projects across one or multiple states
- Project execution from engineering, through procurement and construction, with handoff to operations through commissioning
- Responsible for site safety
- Management of General Contractor and Dairy relations
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Supports in development and maintenance of project Master Schedule.
- Developing and Management of the 3-week look ahead
- Provide insight and direction on construction plans prior to mobilization to ensure they are realistic and achievable.
- Oversee project completion milestone progress & deliverables.
- Analyze impacts to schedule & cost of recover / acceleration plans.
- Support for developing project document control programs.
- Manage the projects in cost control, cost forecasting, invoicing, and financial management.
- Risk identification, risk analysis, recovery planning.
- Analysis of “what-if” scenario impacts during strategic execution planning.
- Support in project pre-planning, development, general contractor evaluation, and bid leveling
- May be requested to work with business development, reviewing proposals and future projects
- Mentor Construction Associates
- Provide performance evaluations
- Consistent and on-time attendance
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5-8 years of Construction Management experience
- OSHA 30 certified
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety laws
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
- Must be able to travel 50% of the time – two weeks on site/two weeks off site – alternating with Construction Associate
Preferred Qualifications
- Full understanding of project financial setup, tracking, reporting & management.
- Full understanding of procurement process & management.
- Full understanding of contract language and use in building of compliance matrix.
- Full understanding of development & execution of change management process.
- Basic ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects at once.
- Advanced understanding of consequences of all project performance.
- Advanced schedule development and maintenance.
